It depends what you want. Portability? Power?

For portability, you might want to take a 15" MacBook Pro and load it with memory.

For power, you have to go with the Mac Pro. With its quad-core architecture, it's blazing fast.

And in both cases, the Apple might give you back some change! :)

    Good luck!

Go get 2 mid range Toshiba laptops and there best warranty with XP pro and you will be good to go for a few years.

with xp you can make it self repair and have less issues

Toshiba makes a good laptop as good as any and there warranty will cover you. if you do have a hardware failure you have a back up while one is in the shop. that is my very best answer. i have owned 2 Toshiba's had one with store warranty and almost tossed the computer through the window cus i did not read the fine print on store warranty. if you buy Toshiba's best warranty you can toss it in a lake and they will repair it no questions. and XP is the most stable OS out now. xp pro with sp2 does well and you can make it self repairing. so little maint and almost no real troubles. good luck.

If I had $3000 I would buy four really good PCs with it.
