Why does Obama pick reporters from a prepared list of names?

Is he concerned a conservative reporter will ask him a hard question?

Update:

Born and raised in America and have voted in EVERY election since I was 21. I have NEVER witnessed this kind of behavior before!

Every thing that man does is carefully crafted for you to see by the liberal media.

The same reasons no one but blacks can go to his award dinner.

he National Newspaper Publishers Association named Barack Obama as its “Newsmaker of the Year.” Ironically, most of the media will be shut out of the award ceremony.

The LA Times reports that the man who promised the most transparent administration will shut out most media, unless the media involved is part of the federation of black community newspapers. Seems a bit strange that the media would be banned from an event that presents an award from the media but that is what The Evil Won has decided.

The representatives of the federation of black community newspapers will present the award in what appears to be a cowardly move as defined by Attorney General Eric Holder. It was Holder who said we are a nation of cowards who spends its off time with like people and refuses to discuss race. Obama is spending his time with like people and shunning those of different colors. Holder says that is cowardly.

I suppose that Obama is wary of words spoken at such an event. Perhaps people there end up sounding like Jeremiah Wright. That would be a disaster for Obama.

Another irony is that the LA Times, the paper complaining about the lack of transparency, sat on a video it possesses in order to help Obama. The video reportedly shows Obama engaged in anti Semitic behavior at a party for one of his radical college professor friends.

The LA Times shut out the American people and now the LAT is being shut out.

The liberal LAT has espoused the liberal positions of Democrats for a long time so they should be pleased with this decision.

Just call it affirmative action newspaper access.

I wonder what would have happened if George Bush had received an award and invited all press except the federation of black community newspapers.

Can anyone say Sharpton in the streets?

He did take questions from a conservative reporter. That reporter asked him why he didn't react more quickly on the AIG situation. And Obama answered that he likes to think before he speaks.

You right wingers are so desperate you look at everything he does with a magnifying glass. You make a big deal out of everything so that no one will talk about the mess that Bush created.

    are you sure about this?

I doubt he has a list off reporters because A) Some reporters are better than others B) It is in fact a waiting list because he receives so many invitations or c) he doesn't want to go on certain reporter's show simply because of the audience he's appealing to and the audience size d) he actually does want to remain off of conservative shows

    I doubt D) though i believe its a combination of A,B and C

All presidents have always done that. Deals are made behind the scene and certain members of the press core are favored.

They don't all get called on every time, but that way they eventually will get their turn. If you never noticed before, it's probably because George Bush hardly ever gave press conferences and took real questions. He actually had actors planted in the audience with fluff questions.

They've always done it this way, and they've never made a big deal about it. ∠°)

EVERY president has always had a list of the names of ALL reporters present at a press conference.

Do you really think he remembers all of their names, and where they work?

    You are a moron.

    Shut up.

    Same reason bush did.

    *sigh*

A politician is a politician. Anyone who buys into liberal/conservative politics is a tool.

So that no one asks him a hard question that is against his liberal tenet of "I'm right, do as I say".

He just asked Major Garret, of Fixed News, to question him on Tuesday. You should listen.
