There is NO civil war in Sri Lanka, but a war against terrorism.
A Tamil separatist terrorist group known as LTTE is fighting for a mono ethnic enclave in the north and east of Sri Lanka, and have been engaging in ethnic cleansing. LTTE carried out attacks on civilians belonging to other ethnics and have chased them away from parts of north and east.
Government forces are fighting against Tamil terrorists in order to stop curb ethnic cleansing and separation attempts.

There is a war against terrorism in Sri lanka.A group of terrorists called LTTE is trying to form a mono ethnic Tamil state in Northern parts of Sri Lanka.The government forces of Sri Lanka are trying recapture the land held by the terrorists and rescue the civilians from the terrorist clutches.
LTTE is keeping innocent Tamil civilians as a human shield to be protected from the government forces.Terrorists also kidnap Tamil children from their parents to use as child soldiers.This terrorist organization has done more criminals than any other terrorist organization in the world to kill thousands of innocent Sinhala civilians in Sri lanka.(Village massacres ,suicide bombings etc..)Terrorists are now on the verge of defeat y the Sri Lankan government.

looks like the usual tribal nonsense to me.
tribe A is the most numerous, gets elected to be the government, and then uses the government as a tool to both collect taxes from tribe B and distribute the benefits to itself.
after Tribe B can't take it any more, they go on the warpath.
