Jimmie Johnson wins! Your thoughts?

On the 25th anniversary of Hendrick Motorsports' first win, Jimmie Johnson gets the first win for Hendrick this year by winning the race at Martinsville today. Pretty impressive since he really wasn't one of the best cars for most of the day. And that was an impressive battle between him and Hamlin late in the race.

So what did you think of the race today? Or the winner Jimmie Johnson?

Update:

Straitedge: Brian's car apparently had a tire rub and an oil leak. It's a shame because he was running so well.

Wow, some of Jimmie's biggest wins have come at Martinsville! From the race he won later the same day of the tragic plane crash that took so many great people to the duel with Jeff in the 2007 spring race and now today! Jonah was pretty fired up for his first Martinsville race, his 2nd total, and to witness the first of many wins for the 48 team in his lifetime. Jimmie is the undisputed king of the flat ovals with Denny being a close 2nd at the moment. Jeff was up there all day long and stretched his overall lead a little more today, congrats to him as well. I think having Jeff as a mentor, especially at the Paperclip, has payed dividends beyond anyone's initial expectations. It was awesome that Jimmie didn't have to wreck him to get by and in that same situation almost every other driver would have done the same. I liked how Denny manned up and showed respect in his post race interview. I like him more and more all the time he and reminds me of Jimmie in the way he excels at the same types of tracks. What a race, I look forward to it more than any other place they go to.

    Jonah's FINE N 09!!!!

Jimmie and Chad once again show the world how it's done. I was very impressed by Denny Hamlin and the #14 and #33. It seemed like any of the drivers who had to contend with a struggle at Martinsville would slowly deteriorate to the back of the field. Mark Martin kept creeping up towards the front, only to lose a couple of postions thereafter. Junior put on a welcome showing at Martinsville. But Jimmie is like a shark in the ocean. When his car crept up into the top ten after looking like he had no chance, I knew him and his Hendrick team mates would be the force to contend with. Nobody was taking away from Denny Hamlins concentration, as shown when Denny dive bombed Jimmie on the restart. Jimmie took that hit and turned it into his ultimate plan of attack to contend with the #11 There was nothing but pure professional competition between the 11 car and the 48 I could only imagine Jimmies adrenaline building as he counted down the laps to the checkered flag. As in many races the climax will be excecuted in the final laps. Maybe Denny displays his force too easy for the crowd, but Jimmie knows how use his best and hardest moves when they're most needed, not out of spite or anger. Jimmie moving Denny out of the way for the win was the biggest and boldest move of the whole race. And it was for the win. And it was done by Jimmie Johnson.

Was bound to happen sooner or later. Congrats to my teammate Jimmie for the win, and hopefully my 5 car can translate 2 top 10's into a few top 5's and then a few wins. Mark is back on the right track, and it's only a matter of time for him, as well.

All in all it was a good race. Some good strategies early, solid efforts by everyone. Jimmie worked on his car all day, and it shows that even if you're car is not good early, you can make a winning car out of it.

Great race, great finish! It certainly had me on my feet. I thought Denny had the win after the re-start where Hamlin drove hard to the inside and passed Johnson. I truly expected Hamlin to get back up there and battle Jimmie at the end too. He had ten laps to do it in, and the better car, but Johnson drove the wheels off that thing getting away from him.

Great race.. I think most people may not have had a good look at the pass.. When Jimmie tried to squeeze under Denny, his left front wheel hit the famous M'ville curb, and he bounced into Denny.. Risky on Jimmie's part, but all's well, that ends well.. Nice race by all the HMS drivers.. I love short tracks..

I can't believe how many of you have no idea that Denny did

    that to himself..

I'm sure there will be many replays.. Watch this time..

JJ was not behind him.. He had a fender up on him, and

Hamlin came down, forced JJ into the curb he bounced

    off, and into Denny..

Why do the Gibbs drivers, drive like there is nobody else

on the track, then cry at the result?? Their ages explain the tears,

but not an inability to learn from mistakes..

IT WAS AWESOME! I am a huge JJ fan, but I THINK Denny Hamlin had the better car, and he deserved to win for dominating the race. Anyway, I was in a huge shock when JJ passed Hamlin with 15 to go, and especially when he actually won. Overall, great race, it just became one of my favorites, just like Kansas last year.

I think it was one of the best races if the year (so far). Either Jimmie or Denny would have been fine by me. I loved Jimmie's little bump move on Denny. Jeff got attitude with Tony early in the race. Loved it! All four Hendrick drivers in the top 10! I felt sorry for Aric Almirola and Robby Gordon. If it wasn't one, it was the other......

Well First off Congrats too all Jimmie Johnson/ HMS Fans!

What a race. I laughed my a** off when Jimmie bumped Hamlin outta the way. Oh Good Ol' Fashion Bumpin & Bangin'!

I missed the first 375 laps because I was with my girlfriend, but the final 125 laps I got too see was just absolutely great racing action.

BTW anyone know what happened to Brian Vickers and why he went 4 laps down? I didn't know if they said it or not.

I liked the race even though Jeff didn't get the win. There was plenty of action and alot of beatin and bangin. This shows you why the #48 team has won 3 straight championships. They may not have the best car, but they make the changes needed to get the car better. That pass on Hamlin was incredible. I don't know how both cars didn't wreck.
