When I re-pierce my lip, will it hurt as much as the first time?

I got a piercing 3 years ago and kept it for about 2 years. When I had it done, it hurt a lot for 2 weeks, then it was okay. Later, because of work issues I had to take it out. I miss it and am getting it re-pierced soon, but was wondering if it's going to hurt as much as the first time when I get it redone.

Will it hurt as much as the first time or is the tissue in the piercing desensitized because of having it pierced a before?

well honestly, if it's right in the same spot, it's going to hurt even more, because you're piercing over scar tissue. Sorry.

If you're really excited though, you'll get a good adrenaline rush and it won't really bother you. I'm sure you'll be just fine.
