I think your reference material shows one of the hallmarks of deceptive writing - it quotes nothing but sentence fragments, out of context.

This is what he said he was going to do, guess this is the only one truth he told. I have read about this on different sites for over a month now. Sounds like he is the off spring of Hitler. Obama is bound hell and determined to turn this country into a communist country. He put down the Iraq war, see what he is doing now, still at war. Now he wants his own Army , to declare dictatorship to stay in power. Obama needs to be stopped and people better start next year during mid term elections to get as many of them people out as possible. Wake UP people. He already pretty much controls the Media, now bailing out newspapers, government control unions etc. Obama is sounding more like Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro and other dictators already. Wonder when he will start the Blackouts of all sources of media, so we will not know what is going on.

We as a world are facing a global depression, unprecedented in size and scale.

What the GIVE act is about is establishing if it would be feasible and if so to then make it legal to employ the majority of Americans in tackling these problems. Though systems that are employed already in many other nations of the world like, Conscription, Work for the Doll (unemployed welfare money), Study assistance and youth conservation corps.

The government also understands a lot of people are employed already in these sorts of positions and are at risk of loosing their jobs as big business in the US (that generally funds a lot of volunteer type work).

Just for the history of the situation:

During the 1930s and 40s many Americans in fact worked in all three of these situations, having been picked up by the FDR New Deal to work in forest conservation corps, then on PWA jobs building schools and other public infrastructure before being conscripted to fight the war in Europe and the Pacific against Fascism. To then return home to be granted education under the GI bill.

It was with that sort of idea, that in the 1960s many Americans joined the Peace Corp (that and because Peace Corp activities sometimes made you except from the draft).

Sadly though, it is true that some of the economists and advisers behind Obama are men and women who in the past aided Fascist and Dictatorial regimes around the world (like in Chile) and they may be pushing these laws from a not so good willed stand point. And that is the reason we all (the world over) should be concerned about this.

Well, a lot of us knew it was coming. And it's not just "right wing" either (http://www.squidoo.com/liberalsagainstobama). I just can't believe there are still fools out there who lie and blow it off to try and justify themselves and their "grand one". Those who so never learn and still go down with the ship, even after they see the nightmare of their actions come to fruition. They refused to acknowledge that the Obama's attended a blistering racist church for twenty years and the Michelle Obama - who will be heading up this "civilian army" - wrote college thesis' on her blaring hatred of white people. Now it's time for "paybacks"....Thats where this "civilian youth" comes in...anyone who thinks this isn't Hitler Youth is blind, deaf AND dumb.

It doesn't matter what your source is, my friend. These people don't believe it because they don't WANT to believe it. Obama HIMSELF said in Colorado that he WANTS a civilian security force as well or better-funded than the military.

They still don't believe it. Count yourself lucky that you see what is going on and prepare yourself. If and when you are called upon to make a choice, you will at least HAVE a choice. Those who refuse to believe will not. It is already too late for them.

I think that if this is true, it sounds a lot like the "Hitler Youth". Anything that is forced is NOT volunteering.

It's just one more way of the government owning us.

He did say in a campaign speech, "We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."

Even though I TOTALLY disagree with it..

Part of me is getting a bit of pleasure that all the young and dumb that fell for the socialist are the ones that are going to have to do his bidding now... I am too old, I will just watch the army march by.

It would be nice to think these kind kids would be used to patrol borders and such but you know when you have an internal army that sooner or later they'll turn on their own too. Dissent is dissent after all and even a good parent gets sick of a pain in the a.s.s. kid right? But since mommy and daddy get replaced every 4 to 8 years you just never know---you might get a wicked old step-mommy some day who'll keep you chained in the tower Cindy and this marm has the manpower to ensure it.

You are right about the language in there. It SHOULD be reviewed. That's exactly the kind of thing which can alter good intentions. They always put these things through in such a hurried manner.

Doesn't the USA ever have any public hearings over these things before they are passed?? Strange way to run things....

They should have live tv from the senate or where-ever so the public can watch. That's what we have!

Anythign that makes histrionic right wingers wet their pants is a good thing. Hopefully one of them will become so divorced from reality and whipped into a nonsensical furor by blogs and youtube videos and go on a killing spree, and discredit their views forever.
