Why does the government...?
Feel it is qualified to make BUSINESS decisions for GM and Chrysler?
The government in not even competent enough to run itself, how does it expect to run Car Manufacturers?
Your average politician is a lawyer. They know very little about running big business. They know nothing of spending money wisely. All they know is that they have all the money in the country with a simple change in the tax code. They are not in the business to compete or earn money, only to confiscate it from its rightful earners.
Sure, these people have advisors, but they are political hacks who echo the ideology of the people they advise. They aren't out for economic return. They want political return and that is how they design policy.
So, again, I ask, why does the government think it can successfully run the auto industry?
Major stockholders do not have input on day to day business decisions in a corporation. NONE.

1st they should have never got the bail out money to start..
2nd what would have happen with out it???Filing bankrupt like every other small Business would have to do...
Or they could have combined companies...Simple fact is more cars are not being sold because of the bail out ...never will be more cars being sold because of it...If the would have combined companies they could have kept there employees or down sized to a number that was needed ...
So why on earth would big business stay here after all of this?Why take a chance of having a bad year and the Government stepping in and taking your business?Why not just move it over to a different Country with cheaper labor and no threat of the big boys walking in and kicking you out...Our Government is going to chase our Big Boys right out of the Country....

I am still asking WHERE in the Constitution of the United States it gives the federal government the right to do this.
