What percent of people in the Air force are actually pilots?

You have to be an officer to be a pilot in the Air Force. And to be an officer, you need at least a bachelor's degree. The statistic is about 4% (13,246 out of 324,633 people in the Air Force are pilots - current as of Dec 31, 2008).

In total there are about 670,000 people in the air force ( including reserves and civilian contractors ). It operates about 5,800 aircraft. So.. about .8% give or take..
