my computer keeps telling me i need a certain file to install the camera anybody wanna help me out here

Try this, uninstall and reinstall the software if this doesn't work then your software might not be compatible with your PC, especially if you are running vista.
You can always use an external card reader to download your pics to your PC. Just open the card reader in MyComputer and copy/paste the pics to your pictures file.

What kind of file is it asking for? Do you have a original CD of your camera? Provide more information pls...
