If you could choose where your tax dollars went, where would it be?

I'm with Sageands... Most of it for education, as much as we can spare after we fix the potholes, etc. We need so many more scientists so that we can foster the development of people who can craft better ways to work on climate change, saving the oceans, and limiting population growth. Unless we can figure out how to save this fragile planet, none of the rest of it will matter one bit.

I'm with Nathaniel. The reason we're in a mess is because people are looking to make money, not make a company function in our society and on our planet. We need to enforce that these are going by the books. While I'm not a fan of the "trickle down effect" (helping out big business in order for their success to "trickle down" to us at the bottom via employment opportunities), I do believe this is a form of it that could work simply because it would restrict bad business practices from causing companies to go under and employees to be laid off or go unpaid. It would also ensure that we are more conscientious to what we put into the environment. This affects all people on this planet.

Solid education for the most part. We have to have the military so some goes there. We spend too much there now, so we can cut it back. We don't have to lower serviceman's pay we can just stop developing new weapon systems for a while. None for the arts. Real good art comes from any where but money.

I would want it to stay in my own country...the amount we fund other nations (Israel in particular) while we fall like a safe hitting the ocean floor is an atrocity.

I dream of the day when every school and hospital has the funding it needs but the navy needs to hold a bake sale to buy a new Aircraft Carrier.
