help with allegiant air?

If it has a telescoping handle, then the handle would need to be down when measuring. You won't have it up when you store it in the overhead compartment, so the extended handle will not be included in the measurement. However, I believe the regular stationary handle is included in the measurement. I personally just used a tote bag. You are also allowed one personal item in addition to your carry on. Here is a list of examples of personal items taken straight from the Allegiant Air website:

1.Male or female purse

2.Briefcase

3.Laptop computer

4.Camera case

5.Diaper bag

6.Portable electronic devices of similar or smaller size to items listed above

7.The dimensions for a personal item must not exceed 9" H X 16" W X 19" D

8.The personal item must be placed under the seat in front of you

They will be strict about measurements of carry ons as the TSA requires U.S. airlines to enforce strict adherence to the rules.

As for snacks, you are allowed to carry on snacks that are for immediate consumption. As in, a small bag of chips, a few cookies, beef jerky, etc. You may not take drinks through security, so if you'd like to take a drink onto the plane with you make sure you purchase it AFTER you have gone through security. Prices for their snacks are a little high, it's a couple dollars for drinks, I think I paid around $5 for the kiddie snack pack. Make sure you bring something to do, as there is no in-flight entertainment (one of the ways they keep fares low). I have flown with Allegiant twice and have no complaints, I enjoyed flying with them. Have fun on your trip!
