Does the amount of total calories per day needed include calories burned?

I need 3200 calories per day. I got a little bit over that, BUT i burned 918 calories today... am i supposed to get those calories back by eating more, or does the total number of calories i need include those burned?

Update:

there's a few websites that have programs that can predict roughly how many calories you burn in a day doing various activities.

3200 is how much calories you need to take into your body a day. However much you spend of it doesn't really matter as long as it does not greatly exceed that. You do not compensate for spent calories by eating that amount of food in calories. Otherwise you'd keep gaining weight.

First off I would like to know how you know the exact amouth of calories you burned, lol. But anyways, if 3200 is how many you need without exercise then you need to eat 4000+ today. I assume that you mean you meant 918 calories by doing some sort of exercise. Also not only did you burn 900 calories while you were exercising, you need to keep in mind that exercise also speeds up your metabolism, so in reality your probably gonna wanna eat more around 4300.

it depends on if 3200 is your maintenance amount or your basal metabolic amount. i'd recommend reading up a bit more to figure out which, as it sounds like you're not too sure what you are doing. read up on basal metabolic rate. i would also recommend that you look into zig-zag eating for fat loss as that seems to be your focus. here is a good calculator for it that'll get you going. http://www.naturalphysiques.com/tools.php?itemid=6...

also, you burned way more than 918 calories. that's probly what your cardio machine said you burned, which is wrong anyways. you burn calories every second of everyday. don't worry about how many your machine says you burnt. find out your weight, figure out your desired weight, read up on zig-zag eating and get your diet in order and you'll lose the pounds.
