  • Do robins ever have just one egg?

This year we had a robin couple choose to nest on our porch light. We watched the 4 eggs hatch and the babies all grow into healthy birds. They all eventually left the nest and, I assume, became successful adults.

Couple weeks later, I was delighted to see that they were back and building a new nest in the same spot. I was surprised since I figured after the first time, they would have determined the spot to be too disruptive. It s right by our door and we regularly use that door to let our dog out. I also have a potted garden right in the vicinity of that light. The couple had to deal with me in the garden as well as our dog going in and out repeatedly. Not to mention an incident with one of the previous hatchlings where I didn t realize it had left the nest and my dog chased it around the yard with the parents dive bombing her.

So yeah... very surprised that they came back. They finished the nest and then laid one egg in it. As far as I know, robins lay one egg a day up to 4 or 5. But it s been about 2 days now with no new eggs and no sign of the robins. Is this nest abandoned? Why would they come back to the same spot just to abandon it?

  • How do I rewrite this sentence by starting with "In"?

"Amazon rain forests and jungles are in great danger."

Then I'm supposed to rewrite this by starting with the word "In". I've been thinking about it for a long time but I just don't have any ideas...

  • Is it normal to not empty my bladder completely when I pee?

I'm not sure if this is normal but when I urinate I feel like there's more. If I just sit on the toilet longer and squeeze a bit, more urine comes out. Sometimes it happens more than 10 times in one sitting where I'm "done" peeing but just because I know my body I just sit there and wait for more.

Why am I not completely emptying my bladder? Why is my body "holding on" to some and making me squeeze it out? The amount that comes out by squeezing multiple times after I'm done is no small amount.

  • What is the name of this stone (green and purple)?

I have this necklace on which there are 4 gem stones.. two of them are amethysts and the other two are stones that I don't know the name of. From far away it looks like a grey-green-purple. When you take a close look at it and turn it in the light you see sparkles of light/normal green and purple.

What is this stone called? I always knew it as "Misty" but a search online shows that no one else seems to regard it as such.

  • How is the durability on the Blue Snowball Mic?

For anyone who has actually owned and frequently use their Blue Snowball Mic for over a year (preferably over 2 years), how has your experience been? Any mechanical or electrical failures? Or any of the parts break/shift/what have you? Of course this is all supposing that you use your microphone as a normal person may be expected to use it.

  • Which is worse? Listening to music at a loud volume or lower volume pressed to your ear?

I like to listen to music at a fairly moderate volume but I sometimes I like to press the ear buds in and hold them there because it makes the music sound like it's filling your head. Anyways, so is it better or worse to do that with lower volume or listen (still with ear buds) at a higher/loud volume but not pressed in?

For the comparison let's assume the volume that you hear is basically the same since when you press the buds in the music sounds louder.

Reason that I'm confused is because the volume difference makes changes to the sound waves. But pressing them in simply put the source of the waves closer. So.. which is more damaging? Would it be the same?

  • What movie is this? Spy with a blond partner switches pens.?

I don't remember that much about it but here it goes.

The scene I remember is where a celebrity (in the movie I mean) is at a party. I think he was a famous boxer or something. He's acting as a spy though. He's played by an african american actor. He approaches the "target" they're trying to spy on/get in the house of. He talks to him a while then a fan comes up to him asking for a signature. He asks the target for a pen, signs the paper, then pretends that he forgot the pen wasn't his and puts it in his suit's inner pocket. The target asks for his pen back. He apologizes and reaches in and takes out a pen that looks similar but is in fact outfitted with a tracking device and gives it to the target.

    Other scenes I remember...

-him and his blond haired spy partner being shot at while they ride some kind of trolley down a hill.

-being on a truck carrying new vehicles and stealing one of them while the truck is moving.

    -parachuting into a big fountain.

  • Should I include my university in my resume? (Please read description)?

Last year I went to Queen's University in Ontario. I live in British Columbia so that's pretty far away. During my year there, some personal circumstances came up and I ended up having to drop all my courses at the end. I dropped them with the Dean's approval so they're not "Withdrawn" on my transcript, there's NOTHING on my transcript honestly, so it's almost as if I haven't really been there at all.

**Do I still have a right to tell any future employer that I have attended that university for a year?** I mean technically I did, but I didn't accomplish anything...

Also, because of this personal issue, I decided to take **one year off of university** during which to gather the pieces of my life into a semblance of order and also to make some money. **Do I mention this?**

This is my dilemma, tell them I'm going to University far far away and they'll just think "oh, she's only here for a couple months." On the other hand, tell them I'm taking a year off and they think (once again) "she's only here for a year. She's going to leave after."

If my university was closer, I would not hesitate to put it on my resume but because it is so far from home I feel like if I mention it, all I'm doing is advertising the fact that I'm only going to be there for a year. Usually this would be a no brainer and I would just mention it as natural as anything but because I dropped everything I almost feel like I'm not really a student there and don't have a right to be tooting their name around.

I know you should be honest to your employers so I'm leaning towards a "yes, include it" but I can't explain all of this in a resume that's supposed to represent the "best me" in a quick and snappy way so I feel like I'm just going to make a bad impression.

  • How to fix an HP printer that keeps saying "Printer Cartridge Problem"?

I assure you, there is NOTHING wrong with the cartridges. I've even used them on this very same printer before. They're the SAME cartridges that came with the printer so there is no way they are the wrong kind. HP also provides a little card that says which ink cartridge your printer needs and it is the same one. The reason I know there's nothing wrong with the cartridges is because I took it to my friend's HP printer and it accepted the cartridges just fine.

I've restarted the printer, unplugged and replugged the printer, opened the door and closed the door, removed the cartridges and replaced the (same) cartridges, checked the copper tape on the cartridge for damage such as scratches, dust, or fingerprints (there is none, if there was it wouldn't work on my friend's printer anyways).... I am LOST here.

Cleaning the cartridges with distilled water is not really an option. Where am I going to get that? (don't answer that question. it's rhetorical) Plus I'm pretty damn sure it's not the cartridges' problem.

  • How to get HP to replace or fix my printer?

I bought an HP computer in January. Unfortunately I cannot return it to the Staples I bought it at. They told me to get HP to fix or replace it for me... but I don't really know how? I went on to their site but I don't really see anywhere with instructions on how to do that. My printer has one year warranty.

  • Only for parents with more than one child: Do you really like your kids equally?

PLEASE do not answer this if you don't have children or if you only have one. I know majority of people think "of course parents should love their children equally" but that's not what I want to know. IF you have two or more children, be truly honest:

Do you love them both equally?

Or even taking love out of the picture because I know it's possible to be annoyed at someone and not want to be around them and still love them with all your life:

Do you prefer the company of one over the other? Do you like the personality of one over the other?

  • How to figure out my mark? (Percentage math...)?

I was never able to figure this out...math being my worst subject....

An exam with two parts, multiple choice and short answer. MC = 75% of the final exam mark, short answer = 25% of the final exam mark.

If you receive 21/30 (70%) on the short answer part and your final exam mark was 81.67%, what percentage did you get on the MC part?

  • Who are some good, funny Let's Players on YouTube?

Recently, I've gotten addicted to Let's Plays and I'm quite a big fan of chuggaaconroy. I'm wondering if there are more really good Let's Players. I prefer humor over skill and would prefer the ones who actually guide you through the game and know what they're doing... but if they're funny enough, I won't mind if they don't (know what they're doing).

    Any recommendations?

  • French grammar: "pour" then infinitive? and french translation for english "to -verb-"?

I'm trying to say "the narrator uses personification to present society..."etc.

Would "personnification pour présenter" be correct?

Also, in english there are often times when we use "to... verb" in a sentence like: "He was excited to see his friend" I don't understand how you would translate the "to" part: "Il était excité _____ son ami." What do you put in the blank? Just the infinitive or do you need something before that?

It doesn't have to be that the subject matter and/or lyrics are necessarily upbeat but just the song and music in general.

  • How much do you need to change a sentence so that it's not considered plaigerism?

Are you allowed to still used little bits of the same words?

    example would be:

"Of all children whose mothers worked non-day shifts, the strongest associations were found for children who lived in single-mother or low-income families, whose mothers worked in cashier or service occupations, and whose mothers worked non-day shifts full-time."

    CHANGED TO

"Stronger associations of behavioural problems were found in children whose mothers worked non-day shifts, lived in single-mother or low-income families, whose mothers worked in cashier or service, and whose mothers worked full-time non-day shifts."

Just how much do I need to change a sentence..?
