WiFi connection problem! Please help!?
I have a laptop and WiFi at home. It's worked just fine for two - three years. But my WiFi started to "fail" about a month ago. I know the problem is not my laptop, because I am able to connect to my neighbor's unsecured Linksys with no problem. (I live in an apartment and some neighbors have unsecured WiFi.) Also, I have this software program ConfigFree Connectivity Doctor - it has this radar-type screen that shows what WiFi links are in the area. Mine is right there - I can see it! But my laptop won't connect to it! Why!!??
I don't think I changed anything on my laptop regarding to my WiFi connection (no change of codes, addresses, passwords, etc.) - if changed, it was unintentional. (I'm not too tech saavy.)
Someone suggested that my Linksys router may have worn out (It's 2-3 years old). Does that happen? Do they "wear out"?
I'd really appreciate any help!! Thanks!

Did you try to restart or unplug the router for a short while? I've had my Linksys router for a very long time and it still works fine. On a rare occasion I have to restart it because it doesn't function properly.
Try restarting your Internet Modem as well.

in case you have an ethernet cable, plug the laptop without delay into the router. in case you could connect with the internet attempt shutting down your firewall and then connecting wirelessly. If this works, be constructive to coach the firewall returned on once you have linked. If this would not artwork and you could not connect whilst linked directly to the router, circulate the cable on your modem and attempt connecting. If it does not connect, eliminate the potential from the two the Modem and the router. Wait a jiffy then first restoration the potential to the modem.. wait till you have a connection and restoration the potential to the router. this ought to the ideal option your subject.

Hard reset the router and reconfigure it. If you can change the name of your wireless network and its encryption key do it. You can call the manufacturer technical support of your wireless router to help you configure it.
