What's wrong with me?? I have a sore throat with swollen...?
tonsils(one has 2 giant holes in it btw), general malaise, sore upper back and chest, dry cough which occasionally produces yellow and sometimes brown phlegm(i'm a smoker), head stuffiness and occasional runny nose. This has been going on for almost 2 weeks now and started out like a cold. I think it may be walking pneumonia but i thought it was a sinus infection too(not so much anymore but could it be both?) so....is walking pneumonia contagious? I WILL SEE A DOCTOR SO JUST SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME. I just like to try to do without the antibiotics and tests first. I'm just trying to diagnose myself first. I'm not as think as you dumb i am.....lol

I would say you should probably go to the doc if it has been two weeks and is not letting up or is getting worse. Yes, walking pneumonia is contagious. But the sore throat and tonsils and phlegm could just be due the drainage from your sinuses. Smoking will prolong it because 1-your immune system is not at its best, neither is circulation, depletes your body of vitamin C 2-smoking also paralizes the cilia which helps keep the bad stuff out 3-irritates all your mucus membranes, and makes you cough more.....I'm a smoker as well and colds always seem to hang on longer!!
Don't prop up pillows under your head when you sleep (even tho it may make breathing and sleeping easier) cause it actually just causes the gunk to pool in your lungs. Try laying down and and having someone beat on your back to loosen up the mucus in there. Cup hands and smack around lung area for 5 or 10 mins. Even hang upper body over edge of bed while someone does it. Should loosen it and you should cough some up. Do it several times a day.
Do your lungs feel full? Short of breath...drowning? The soreness could just be from coughing. Could turn into bronchitis or pneumonia if it hasn't already.

You know that feeling you get when you walk outside on a really humid day and take a deep breath? If breathing feels like that all the time, then there is a good chance that you have walking pneumonia. As stated before, smoking does not help your immune system out in the situation (maybe cut back a little?) and cold is likely to develop into a sinus if you don't take care of yourself. Talk to your doctor for more information.

walking pneumonia is highly contagious. If you suspect that, it would be best to see the doctor as soon as possible so you don't spread it more than you already have.
Hope you feel better!
