How much should I offer someone to feed my horses?

All they would have to do is drive out and feed them twice a day for a short time while I'm on vacation. Or 1 feeding once a week if I go out of town for the afternoon. There's 3 of them.

I got paid $10/day for checking on my neighbours horses, feeding her cats and chickens, and feeding her inside bird. It took about 30 minutes to do all that. In the winter, she paid me $12/day since i had to feed the horses hay as well.

I got $400 a month taken off rent for doing 7 horses. Here is what I did: Friday afternoon take in horses, feed them, make up next moring grain. Friday night checks, throw hay. Saturday morning feed, turn out, much stalls, make up grain for night. Saturday afternoon turn in, feed, make up morning grain. Saturday night check, throw hay. Sunday morning feed, turn out, much stalls, make up night grain. Sunday afternoon bring in and feed and make up next days grain.

It turned out to be a lot of work (for one person) and I wasn't EVER given any weekends off which made me eventually dislike the position. But if you are more flexible, I am sure it will go fine.

I think about $10 an hour is fair, especially if all they are doing is feeding.

I would do $5-10 a day, depending how far a drive, also if they have to do any cleaning at the barn too. Have a happy vacation!!

I bet you could find a teenage girl who would do it in return for being able to ride when you are home. I did this as a teenager many times.

Maybe about $30. It depends on how far away they live.
