[Update] 2.70 is now live. The pre-download patch list details the following additional features:

The ability to search the net about a particular game direct from the game section of the XMB using the triangle menu

The ability to cut and paste text (does that mean the PS3 is better than the iPhone now?)

A Dynamic Normalizer to prevent sudden increases in volume between music tracks

They say old news because there has been rumours about 2.70 updates and its features for at least the past 2 months. Chat has always been available out of game (where have you been?), but the in game text chat should be a nice addition. could care less about the video backup, because i dont pay to watch something thats free. I dont think this what everyone wanted though, which is cross game VOICE chat (which i could also care less about), but its a starti guess. I hope that really wasn't the full list of upgrades for the update though, because that was actually a pretty weak announcement.
