How much should I charge for babysitting?

I babysit two kids: a 3 year-old boy and a 5 month-old baby girl. The parents don't know exactly know how much they should pay me so they asked me to ask people how much they would get paid for babysitting. So far I have been paid $13 for 2 hours and $20 for 2 hours and 15 minutes.

it should depend on your experience...

when i first started babysitting i charged $5 a kid an hr

then i became first aid and cpr certified then i raised it to $10 a kid per hr

Well, since their younger you should probably charge a dollar or two more and it also depends when you are babysitting , if it is in between meal times or later at night . Also if you will have to do any extra care and tell the parents that you have been paid that price then ( $13 and $20 ) ask them if there comfortable paying that much and if not up the price or bring the price down it all depends . I'm also trying to find out how much i need to pay and all that stuff because I am new at babysitting too.

I think it depends on how old you are, for experience, and how long you're usually babysitting for. I've babysat two kids before for $15 an hour. Every extra hour was $5, but she was never really gone more than three hours and I was a friend of the family.

My sister has been doing daycare in northern WI for over 10 years and she charges $3.00 per kid per hour and $4.00 per infant per hour. She uses the cost of meals as a tax deduction and if the child needs diapers and wipes etc then the parents must provide them. If you have any CPR or EMT training it is definitely a plus. I'm sure it varies somewhat depending on where you live too.

    $5 an hour,

    thats what i do.

    bt they have 3 children

and would stay out the whole night.

so i end up with about 100 flat.
