New England and Canadian cruise, any suggestions?
My family is planning a cruise for my mother's 80th birthday. She has always wanted to go on a New England/Canada cruise in the Fall. Any suggestions on cruiseline or best month to go?

We cruised to New England Canada a couple years ago and our cruise was in mid-September. The cruise lines generally have cruising doing that itinerary from mid-to late summer until maybe the end of October. My suggestion would be to do the cruise in the fall by about mid-August to mid-September because it can get quite chilly up that way.
Our cruise departed from Boston and it was nice for the port stops in Mass and even in Portland, Me. But as we went further north the temperatures went down a bit during the days to the 55 to 65 range. With a breeze blowing in a couple locations you needed a jacket off the ship. Ships that do that itinerary usually always have a solarium; a covered pool and hot tub area. And you can always find places to see things from inside out of the chilly air.
The good part about going in the fall is seeing the fall colors. Most days off the ship a jacket or heavy sweater was sufficient for the weather. It rained only one day but was sunny the rest of the 7 day cruise. We did a tour to Mount Washington in New Hampshire, a tour of Arcadia National Park, went to a lobster bake, and a tour of St Johns Nova Scotia. We enjoyed the cruise very much.
We cruised on Royal Caribbean cruise line's Jewel of The Seas; one of my favorite of RC's ships. But other good lines to go on would be Holland America, Princess and Celebrity cruise lines. Holland America is the cruise line that will have the most senior citizens but regardless there will likely be few kids on this itinerary. You also need to decide whether you want a 7 day cruise or a longer one. Some itineraries that are longer will depart from a port such as Boston or New York and then go up the Atlantic past Newfunland and then back down the St Lawrence Seaway to Quebec, Canada. http://www.hollandamerica.com/find-cruise-vacation...

Mary cruise lines go to New England and Canada. My wife and I went to Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Nova Scotia out of Bayonne NJ. We enjoyed the european style of housing and quaint churches, Considering your mother's age I would recommend Holland America. They cater to senior citizens and I believe they depart from Boston MA. Have been on Holland America before and have found food and service excellent. PS I am 63 years old.

Holland America line in September, maybe the Maasdam, the Volendam or the Amsterdam will be doing the run this year.
I'm pretty sure they do NY-Boston-Maine-Canada.

A lot of individuals from the United States will honestly use Canadian symbols on their stuff to make a greater impact in different nations. I must additionally upload, that your queen is just about our queen. When I get a dashing price tag it says "You are hereby ordered through the queen of britain to exhibit up on the court docket....." Not to recounted our nation is so cultural. There are british individuals, chinese language individuals, hungarian individuals.... individuals from each heritage. We are welcoming of anybody.

Taking a cruise to Canada is like going to a bar that does not serve booze. What the hell is the point?
