What if Texas were to secede?
if the government gets extremely socialist (or more socialist than it already is).. or Obama pushes the US into early communist ways.. or starts taking over many private businesses and controls all wages in the country.. do you think Texas, or any southern states could secede from the US and become its own...
I know it would be wild on the economy if you live in Texas but if you think about it.. there is a governor who would now be the president, houses of legislation, we have courts, resources, oil, vast land... I live in Texas and I think this would benefit Texas after this happened.. of course it would take some time to get going but I think this could be better than conforming with near communistic ways..
So im just asking your opinions on this..for or against.. why, why not.. and reasons. Thanks!
platypus.. i would be glad to watch you go down with the rest of the country..
well the way i see it is.. if Texas secedes we would build a wall FINALLY between mexico.. kick the illegals who milk the government's tit out for good and the people that want to live freely and conservatively will have plenty of room .. about obama sending the army on us.. I am sure many military members would join Texas ..plus most of us have guns ourselves lol

I totally agree. It would suck to see the union split up, but the truth is, we're our own enemy. If Texas were to secede, we could fight them (war) to get them back, but their state constitution still allows for them to be able to secede and form their own coutnry and everything. By the way, I'm from Colorado, and I would glady fight for Texas rather than Obama and his socialist party if anything were to happen.

which could be fantastic with me! even with the indisputable fact that I truly have really lived in Texas for 7 months of my existence, i'm a Texan. i replaced into born there on a prepare rolling by capacity of the nighttime, purely north of Houston. in the adventure that they secede and Missouri do not i will possibly flow there. i will not stay in an Obamanation, yet will wrestle to keep a loose us of a. If Chuck needs to wrestle, i will connect him.

It might happen some other States like Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi, and South Carolina might just Follow Texas leads because they fear it Socialism Obama is doing, Obama is Changing America and the world and people don't like it.
Enemies of the State You might as well call Texas Home.

I would stand up and clap. Texas already has their own power grid, go ahead and let them secede. Too bad they didn't do it a dozen years ago, and then we would have been spared the horrors of the Bush administration.

I've never been to Texas, but I hope there's room there for me and my family.
Could it happen? It was tried once before and failed. Would Pres. Barry send the Army in to quell the rebellion? I don't know.

Obama, much like Lincoln would never let this happen. I know that the Constitution says that you can, but he would use military before he let it happen. As far as the economic impact, you would be less impacted than other just like Oklahoma. I just hope we join you if you take this route.

I think the US should sell Texas to Mexico. The vast ignorance and sheer lack of rational thought that goes on there is bad for America.
