What underlying symbolism would be meant by giving a thimble as a gift?

I had a birthday a few days ago and my good guy friend gave me his gift today. It had a cd, a keyring, some other odds and ends, and also a thimble. I'm a bit confused by the thimble. He said it had something to do with Peter Pan, but I haven't ever seen that movie. If I have I've forgotten it. Can someone please tell me what he meant by giving me a thimble as part of my birthday gift?

The thimble (in Peter Pan) was given to Peter by Wendy. She called it a "kiss". He didn't know what it was, but accepted it anyway.

Apparently, your "good guy friend" is trying to tell you he wants to give you a kiss! I would say this is a pretty good indication that he likes you!

    Good luck!
