How do I "back calculate" both liquid and vapor specific heats from the given info below?
I have 1,935,420 lbs/hr of process fluid entering all liquid at 168F. 38,000 lbs/hr boils, and the mixture exits at 190F. Total duty is 45,500,000 BTU/hr. Is there a way to calculate the liquid specific heat and the vapor specific heat with this information?

The only thing you can calculate from the information given is how much energy per lb that it takes to turn 1 pound liquid at 168F into 1 pound liquid and vapor at 190F which would be
45,500,000/1,935,420 = 23.5 BTU / pound
a very small percentage of total liquid is turned into gas so you could try to assume that most of the energy is used to raise the liquid from 168F to 190F, but that could easily not be true. Alternately you could assume that most of the energy is used to convert the small amount of liquid into gas. Also not an easy assumption to make.
