2wire 2701HG-B Gateway has unknown network devices?

i have replaced a 2wire 1000HW gateway with a 2wire 2701HG-B Gateway router/dsl modem. in my network list i am able to see all the computers in my home network with their correct connection type. For some reason , i am getting two IP addresses being assigned to devices for which the connection type is unknown, deciphering the MAC addresses reveals nothing . this is the devices in question and listed as active.

View Device Details

192.168.1.64

Connection Type: Unknown

IP Address: 192.168.1.64

IP Address Allocation: DHCP

IP Address Type: Private (NAT)

Hardware Address: e1:6c:d6:ae:52:90

192.168.1.65

Connection Type: Unknown

IP Address: 192.168.1.65

IP Address Allocation: DHCP

IP Address Type: Private (NAT)

Hardware Address: e9:eb:b3:a6:db:3c

If i reset the network list, the "phantom" devices will disappear, but will later return, maybe under different ip addresses but with the same "Unknown" connection type. Pinging the IP addresses in question returns "destination host unreachable". With my previous 1000HW i never had these "phantom" devices. Is this a feature of these more recent 2701 design?

Update:

i do not think its someone external trying to connect to the network, the connection type would be logged as wireless under inactive devices. both of these IP's are listed as active with unknown connection type. The MAC addresses do not correspond to a NIC or wireless manufacturer.

Is someone connecting to it via wireless connection? I'm assuming you've ruled out your computers the ones actually pulling these addresses?

I have that! Its a Wirless/Wired Router and Modem You can connect 4 Computers via Ethernet and also quite some through Wireless (i have 8 devices total wireless) and two wired Bottomline it is a ROUTER with a BUILTIN MODEM and is optimized for AT&T's highspeed internet. Technically by AT&T it is considered a GATEWAY
