How do I fix a drooping fridge door?

The fridge is a Bosch & the door appears to have dropped about 1.5 cm.

The drop is perfectly in alignment - not drooping to one side more than another. If I lift the door up the 1.5 cm it moves up on the hinge or the hinge moves with it.

1] is it easy to fix?

2] If so how would I go about that

Update:

Forgot to mention - it is an upright Fridge Freezer.

Update 2:

Thanks so far... more details

Nothing slipped out... it is single door with a top pin that stays still when the door is lifted

Door seal appears glued in place no access to door screws around that seal.

More help appreciated ;]

Update 3:

The fridge is about 4 years old. Also I can't try anything to repair it yet as it is a relatives 200 miles from here ;]

Update 4:

I can only assume the broken part stayed in the door then ;]

Once resolved I promise to let you all know the result. The hinge is identical to my own fridge which is also a Bosch [I'm trying to find that paperwork for a model number]

It could be nothing more than a plastic spacer installment. This can be handled in less than 30 minutes if you have the part.

Try the Bosch on-line site for the manual or direct contact with Customer Care. Bosch will often send the correct part (if you can determine what it is) at no charge.

You will need the Model number from the tag inside the door.

If your fridge is a similar model, look carefully at the way the hinges are connected to the appliance and the fitting of the hinge pin at the door itself.

Sorry, but I agree with Breath.

The most common cause for what you describe is that you have a broken door closer that is usually a plastic like part that sits atop the lower hinge that the door rides on.

Find the model number tag and get the full number. You might have to look around, remove the grills, sometimes it is hidden by a drawer. Then find a parts place that sells for that brand on line and insert the mdl number and get a breakdown.

Compare the parts on the breakdown to the hinge and see what is wrong, broken or missing.

    Good Luck.

Door seals won't cause that problem.

I am not familiar with the particular brand. often there is a neoprene piece under the bottom pivot. It sounds like it broke and slipped out. There is also a top pivot hinge and usually the pivot is not so long that it would not have slipped out by now. If there is a separation between top and bottom doors then there is a pivot hinge in the middle as well. There are usually plastic caps that have to be removed first. Good luck, I hope this is of some help.

a fridge door is sealed with magnets that are built into the door and the body of the fridge to ensure a seal is formed when a door will not close then the magnets have either been knocked out of alignment or have been depolarised by a stronger magnetic field in any case its usually cheaper to buy a new fridge

You can try and remove the black screws under the fridge if there is any and Put it back there after you take the open door off and fix it through the open door.
