Creative birthday gift ideas for friend?
I'm trying to think of a birthday gift to give my friend. I want it to be something creative, something that you can't necessarily buy in a store. In the past I have made her a football scrapbook, embroideries, a personalised bookmark, etc. And if I give her any more embroideries she could open a museum, so I need some new ideas. Could you give me any suggestions? She's an anglophile and loves football (soccer).
I had this idea of knitting a pair of mittens for her, and then perhaps embroider her initials on them. How do you like this idea?

Go to Cropmom.com at http://www.cropmom.com/ where you can create a scrapbook, e-card, or just a card using your photos and the thousands of graphics available. It is free for screen quality. A nominal fee is charged for a the print-quality JPEG file of your layout (it doesn't cost much) and download it to your computer.
From here, you can either print your layout at home. Or - what I usually do - is have my layout printed on a 5" by 7" greeting card by Shutterfly or Snapfish.

Guy friends can be great fun, but when a birthday or another gift-giving event rolls around, things can get stressful. Odds are that you want something that will show him you care about him, but you're worried about giving him something he won't like. Even worse, you may be worried about giving him something that makes him think you're interested in him. Don't worry ? by choosing an appropriate gift, making it clear that you're not interested, and avoiding common blunders, you'll be able to get an ecstatic (but completely romance-free) response out of your guy friend

You can give her a variety of small things! you know it will look like you have given her many gifts at one shot! IT sorta makes people happy! You can bake a cake for her, give her a surprise by telling her that you will not be there on her birthday but turn up at the party! and you can make her a cute card! you cant take plaster of Paris and make her a cute football pendant! or may be football ear rings. And you could knit her football stockings....... and the mittens would be really cute!
Cheers! =)

I like the mittens idea. For one of my friends one year I did a scrapbook of our entire friendship, with photos and trinkets of things we had done together. I also wrote out little stories that I remembered. If you are good at embroidery perhaps you could do this and then embroider something special for the cover?

Hi
I had an idea of maybe getting like a board and pinning pictures of you when you was little (if you have some) and some recent photos so you have this big collage of photos of you two and maybe other people too...i think she/he would appreciate that thought...its definitely helped me anyway lol x

Well maybe for starters make her a birthday card.
and if she loves football, what team does she support?
you could make a frame or something like that with pictures of the team she supports in it...
sorry if this is no help
Good luck anyway :) x

the mittens is cute, also you could make her an awesome birthday cake or some sweets. My friends are always impressed when i make them boxes of chocolates. Try the Hugh Fernly-Whittingstall family cook book for sweets recipes ;)

Can you knit? Knit her a football scarf. Find out which team she likes and knit it in stripes of the team's colour.
