Is anyone else out there shaking their heads and wondering why so many shootings in this country?

These sensless murders are very disturbing to me. Something I just can't understand!

No, I'm not shaking my head. It's pretty obvious why there are so many shootings.

The US has too many guns and no social support network. People get angry and feel disenfranchised because society is constantly telling them that everything is wonderful and perfect and that if they're not like the people on TV then they are freaks and failures. They have nobody to turn to and when they try to complain they get thrown out in the cold. They then snap and pick up one of the many readily available guns, and blamo, you've got a massacre.

Columbine, two bullied kids shoot up the place for want of a school councilor and some social support.

Virginia Tech, a disturbed kid is allowed to keep his guns even though he's been ruled a danger to himself. Nobody will listen to him or help him so he snaps and goes on the rampage.

New York State, the American dream turns sour for an immigrant and nobody is there to help him though tough times. He's slung out in the cold and society brands him lazy and stupid for not having a two car garage and a pool. He cannot take it and nobody is there to help him so he too snaps and takes it out on the society that's shunned him.

It's an easy equation. No social support and the easy availability of guns equals spree killings. If only people paid attention to them BEFORE they committed mass murder.

The problem is far deeper. It goes back to childhood, abuse and dark beginnings. More often than not the school shootings are carried out by someone who has been bullied at school buy students or by teachers, has had an abusive childhood and an unfortunate past.

  • B.S., Mongo Dude ... I think it has grown in volume since God or any mention of God was taken out of the public school system. Really, when I was in school there were no driveby shootings or police officers scanning me before I entered school. And kids weren't the disrespectful monsters they are today. But, I had a stay-at-home mom, too. Today, that's virtually impossible. Too bad for us.

Drugs are everywhere, guns have always been everywhere, but the kind of drugs that make the living dead like "ice" and others have not.

It's the mind altering drugs and the pressures of modern society, everybody living in each others pockets, no room to breathe!!

I think the financial crises that has hit states is a major cause of all such things... Financial problem is the core cause of many wrong doings.

It is a cultural problem. When there is a problem, people would tend to use their guns instead of their mind.

Perhaps, they should think about martial art.
