what is in the middle of the sea?

I watched a PBS. show about an area,thousands of square

miles in the middle of the pacific, where floating garbage

never goes away. It is held there buy ocean currents.

Using a fine mesh net, the scientists found even microscopic

and bigger shreds of plastic bags.

In the middle of the ocean of the (east of USA), there is a large trench, actually the world's largest. It was created when lava from an undersea volcano erupted and the lava cooled and settled. That is why people say there is a whole in the bottom of the [sea]. Here's a pick. Look for the line (in the ocean) in between USA/South America and Europe/Africa.
