Does Kashi offer a lot of options? Healthy foods?

I am pretty overweight and ready to get in shape. I am about to go grocery shopping this afternoon, and I was looking into Kashi foods.

Is that just snack food and cereal? Or can I buy lunch/dinner items as well? It looks like a good company to buy healthy food from, so I was hoping to buy the food for the majority of my meals from them.

If not, what are some healthy food options that are quick and easy from the grocery store, like Walmart? I'm a college student that does have a lot of time or desire to put a crapload of effort into cooking right now.

A list would be great! Thanks!

Lots and lots of veggies and fruits. Kashi is alright, but seriously some of their stuff is nasty. Trust me, I know what you are going through. Want some great advice about college diets? Eat in your cafeteria..I always just went straight for the salad bars. I would take say a piece of grilled chicken and throw it on top of a great salad I had prepared. Just make sure you are not using a lot of dressing. Eat just salad for lunch, then at dinner add soup. But shoot for brothy soups, not creamy ones, the creams are obviously higher in fat. If you do not have a cafeteria, which I have come from there too, I went to a school where they didn't have one, then buy lots of lettuce, cut it up and put it in a large Tupperware dish. That way your lettuce is ready to be thrown together to create a yummy salad. Little things can really help in dieting too, like eating chips and salsa instead of a dip. Try eating a banana for breakfast with an 8 oz. glass of room temperature water...Japanese women do it and it works! I lost some weight that way. Take up walking, it's a great way to start exercising when you are really overweight. I hope this helps though and good luck in your diet! Just remember, don't deprive yourself, you'll only eat double the amount then! Yikes!! :-)

Read nutrition facts...many have fast healthy choices. You however, must take the time to educate yourself on each restaurants products. Many people think sit down restaurant food is healthier than fast food, not true. Look at portion sizes - way to large and way too much fat.....The best way is to eat heathy - prepared by yourself at home, in correct portion sizes and limit fast food or unhealthy food....but make wise decisions when eating out , and dont overeat
