Have you ever developed serious doubts about your childhood religion?

i was born a muslim and just believed everything i was told. but now at 18 i am learning islam and developed serious doubts about its perfectness. my main points are,

prophet mohammad's tryst with a 9 year old girl and how he wiped out every opposition to his rule by the sword

creation which is a big lie

nonsense about devils and angels talking to mohammad

very silly and wrong ideas about life and our universe in the koran

i am begining to doubt all religions and even god

and if you are not a practicing muslim it becomes very hard to survive in a muslim community

lot of muslims are facing this plight and can you advice me where i must turn now?

Regardless of what you think of marriage of the Prophet to a 9-year old girl, millions and millions, perhaps even billions of people over the course of history have benefited from the Prophetic teachings.

Islam is like a nice shiny sink with a crack in it. sometimes when you are washing your face, water falls onto the crack and a few drops dribble onto the floor. An athiest comes and says "LOOK AT THIS CRACK. I can't wash my face in this. NO WAY. the whole sink is useless." so he throws it out the door and now has nothing to replace it with and has to wash his face and create a pool of water all over the floor. Ends up spending most of his time draining the floor off water instead of washing. A christian looks at the sink and says the same thing. He too throws the whole thing out the door, and instead puts his little bucket (christianity) underneath the tap to catch the water. He now spend 1/3 of the time wiping the floor, 1/3 trying to channel water into the bucket and 1/3 emptying the bucket. (sort of like 1-in-3, 3-in-1).

Muslims just ignore the crack in the sink and have a jolly good time washing up and taking full advantage of a perfectly working sink. The Crack is the Prophets Marriage to Aisha!

    Think about that.

Did you ever develop doubts approximately your faith at some degree on your life? invoice pronounced: confident! i became in touch for awhile with a team of Christian's that have been incorrect in many things some whilst unfavorable to the soul as Islam. faith, Religionists and a genuine and hassle-free courting with Jesus Christ isn't the comparable difficulty. once you meet the actual God He sweep's you off your feet with admiration. You went from the Frying Pan into the hearth. Psalms seventy 4:18 remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the silly human beings have blasphemed thy call. Psalms seventy 4:22 get up, O God, plead thine own reason: remember how the silly guy reproacheth thee each and on a daily basis. Proverbs 10:14 clever adult men lay up awareness: however the mouth of the silly is close to destruction. Proverbs 29:9 If a smart guy contendeth with a silly guy, no rely if he rage or snigger, there isn't any relax. The complexity of the single cellular and DNA shoots Evolution and the large Bang concept's of their respective feet. 1Corinthians sixteen:22 If any guy love no longer the Lord Jesus Christ, permit him be Anathema Maranatha.

Yes. But before I had doubts, I had a lot of questions. This was about 40 years ago. I am no longer a member of that religion or any other.

Best gift I ever gave myself was to trust myself and do my own thinking.

I encourage your to do the same.

I do understand your worry about being a non-practicing Muslim in a theocracy. I have friends from Pakistan who immigrated to the United States for this reason. Whhen they used to go back and visit (before their parents died) they "played the role of good muslims." My friend once joked, "it wasn't to bad at least I got to eat my mother's food."

Yes, when I started studying Christianity I began to see all of its flaws. All of the Abrahamiaic religions have a lot of cultural context w/in their scriptures. This was not so bad 1000 or so years ago but humanity has advanced in consciousness as well as in the quality of our various cultures.

Religion has to adapt or die. There is much that is good in all the world religions. They are a powerful force for good in the world. I think religion needs to focus on lifting up others and caring for the planet. If we all stopped focusing so much on ourselves we would grow from it and the whole would also be raised up.

I hope you find peace and safety on your spiritual path.

Religion is a belief system by which people live that truly in the depth of the heart they believe to be true. Turn to the bible for all truth. Start with the new testiment..the more you read.. the clearer the truth becomes.

The only truth available to man. God's Written Word the Bible. The best religion to seek truth from are those who practice their faith and live at peace with all mankind. There is only one place to turn; Jehovah's Witnesses, but if persecution is a problem for you, at least persection in this case will be well worth it.

When I developed that I did some serious searching and changed it.Ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses for the book "What Does The Bible Really Teach."
