It depends on what you want. I mean, if you buy it at Best Buy and you have a defect or hardware problem, you can bring the laptop to Best Buy and they'll take care of it for you. If you buy it online,you'd have to ship it back to the manufacturer (which costs more money than driving to Best Buy).

I'd probably get it from Best Buy, since I know they don't make very much money at all on the laptops/computers anyway. Their business strategy has been to sell computers/cameras/etc very cheap and then try to sell you severely overpriced accessories.

In the store, just because, like you said, you get it for a lower price and don't have to pay shipping.

You don't have to get a warranty from BB, either--I didn't with the laptop I'm typing on, and that saved me about $200. But other than the costs and also just being able to get a warranty so you won't have to pay extra when you need something repaired/replaced, the laptop will still be the same regardless of where you get it, except it might be easier to customize it through the manufacturer's site.

I would buy it form http://www.newegg.com/ if I ould. they usually have much better prices. the manufacturer may not have the same sales deals oyu'd get form bestbuy, but bestbuy is near by and oyu can always take it into them and copmplain if you needed to, not that they would do anything for oyu of course.
