I'm desperately seeking employment in the Orlando area. Is anyone hiring?

I went to UCF. I used to live in the area, but left when my husband was stationed to different places (army). Now that he's medically retired and a disabled vet, we're back in O-Town. It's been three months and I still haven't found a job. Can anyone point me in a good direction? I majored in Radio-TV, but have mostly worked in restaurants (FOH and BOH). Some grocery store and retail, too. TIA!

Have you checked with the local staffing agencies? The workplace is really tough right now, as I am sure you already know. Also, have you looked into any state or federal jobs? Your husband having been retired from the armed force may give you a lead on others applying for government jobs.

lot of resturants in orlando however i just had to move from orlando back home upstate ny because the economy is much worse in orlando because the economy there is directally or indirectally tied to tourisium but in the bad ecomony today no one can afford to vacation.

even the theme parks have a hiring freeze. i had part time job at park and was only getting 15 hours a week and after i lost my full time job there i also looked for job for about 3 months with no luck living off and running up credit cards until it was either move back home with parents or be home less and i'm over 30. been home for over year and still can't find good enough job to live on own

    so good luck to you.
