I can't decide which Fijit to buy--Friend or Yippit.?
I bought my daughter a Newbie for her birthday, not knowing much about the toys. She wants a Friend, and it seems to be the main toy of this line, and it's only $15 at Wal Mart. However, the Yippit seems to do so much more, but is $35. She wants one that will "talk" to her Newbie--according to the research I've done, only the Friend will talk to the Newbie. Which one would be the best choice? I'm leaning toward getting the Friend, but the Yippit has some pretty cute features (as well it should, at $35!)

2 AnswersFood Service1 decade agoI live in FL. My husband took our 3 daughters over 2 months ago to live in GA with another woman...?
I want to get a divorce and move to MD. Which state's custody laws would I have to follow? Thank you for any information and advice.
4 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoI am going to see Phantom of the Opera next Saturday. It's a matinee. What should I wear?
I am a 32-year-old woman, going with my mother in law and teenaged niece. The last time I saw this show, it was at night, and I was a college student...so I dressed up a bit in a floor-length gown. Do I dress down some since it's a daytime show? I'm not made of money, so whatever I wear will have to be something I already own. Things I do have...nice black dress that could be for office wear or out to dinner; black slacks with slight bits of silver glitter, a couple of nice shirts, both short and long sleeve; short black skirt, long and swingy gray skirt; some sweaters. This is Florida, so there's no need to bundle up. Also, the only nice pair of shoes I have left is a pair of pink high heel sandles. Could I wear these with the black dress? Or maybe the black pants with a pink shirt? The dogs ate all my black shoes. Thanks for any and all advice! (I'm pretty clueless in this department, obviously. LOL)
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories1 decade agoIn this age of practically all job applications being filled out online, what is a good way to follow up?
When businesses used mostly paper apps, you had the opportunity to discuss them (and your resume) right there on the spot. Now, everybody it seems wants you to fill out the app at home, online, and just wait for a phone call. If I call a business after filling out the application, or go back there to talk to a manager, they just say the same thing: "we'll call you."
What can I do further to get an interview? Am I doing anything wrong? I'm not a teenager. I'm an out of work 32 year old mother of 3, married and with a college degree. I need a job desperately, esp. since my husband is a disabled vet who can't work anymore. Thanks for any advice or words of wisdom.
1 AnswerOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoMy daughters were just given a pet naked rat. He's really warm to the touch. Is that normal?

All I know of it is that they served it with mashed potatoes. This was in Louisiana. Thanks for any help!
1 AnswerCooking & Recipes1 decade agoI have to fly to Louisiana on Monday with a layover in Dallas. Should I wear a mask do you think?
I don't want to get the swine flu and certainly don't want to bring it home to my family when I fly back on Wednesday. Would you wear a mask?
7 AnswersInfectious Diseases1 decade agoSo I'm going to the Disturbed concert this weekend, and I haven't been to a concert in years. What do I wear?
I'm not a teenager anymore. I'm 31, btw. So what're some good ideas? TIA
3 AnswersOther - Entertainment1 decade agoOpinions please...I had an interview with Toys R Us, and they have a very kid friendly corporate culture. How?
How should I make out my follow up/thank you letter? Keep it plain, black and white, or use a fun font like comic sans and type it with red, blue, and green ink? For the interview, they had us drawing pictures and making commercials for a specific toy. I want to show I'm really interested and can fit in with them, that I am a kid at heart, but can also be adult and serious. (i'm 31, btw) They seemed to really like me, and like certain aspects of the picture I drew for them. What do you think I should do?
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoI'm desperately seeking employment in the Orlando area. Is anyone hiring?
I went to UCF. I used to live in the area, but left when my husband was stationed to different places (army). Now that he's medically retired and a disabled vet, we're back in O-Town. It's been three months and I still haven't found a job. Can anyone point me in a good direction? I majored in Radio-TV, but have mostly worked in restaurants (FOH and BOH). Some grocery store and retail, too. TIA!
4 AnswersOrlando1 decade agoHow can I get my nieces to call me "Aunt"? Or esp. have my mom-in-law ask them to?
My husband and I have been together for ten years. We have three kids, ages 9, 8, and 4. He also has a 16 year old from a previous relationship. My husband's brother and his wife have been together for maybe seven years. Their family consists of the husband's child (13), the wife's child(10), and the one child they had together (5). My mother-in-law makes my children call their uncle's wife "Aunt Melissa" but I have only ever been called "Karen" by my nieces. Granted, my brother in law and his wife have been married longer than my husband and I have, 6 years to our 3, but other than that, their kids have never known any other woman in my husband's life to refer to as "aunt". My husband and I are sick of this. We can't figure out why this is going on or how to change it. He is trying to get our kids to stop calling Melissa "aunt" at least until his brother's kids call me "Aunt." Can you guys out there in Yahoo Answers land follow all that? Do you have any advice you can offer me? I'd appreciate it!
7 AnswersFamily1 decade agoI can't recall the dates of all the jobs I've had in the past. Is there a way I can look it up online?
I'm completely drawing a blank here. I know where I've worked but I don't remember the approximate dates, like just month and year. The documents I had regarding these jobs were lost in a house fire. Is there a way to look up my employment history online? I'm not into calling these places personally, sounding like an idiot in asking them when I worked for them. Thanks in advance for any help.
3 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoI'm thinking of buying an Oriental Frill. Does anyone know about these birds?
My husband and I met a breeder over the weekend who has Oriental frills. We'd never seen them before. We're considering buying one or two. I can't seem to find any info on the care of these birds, or if they'd make good pets. We have 3 young children, btw. Thanks in advance for any info or help!

7 AnswersRodents1 decade agoIs there a way to move my favorites list of websites to an online site?
I'm turning my computer back in to the rental place I lease it from, but would like to hang on to my "favorites". Can I put it somewhere like on yahoo, or google, or something similar? I'd just print it out, but I want the links to be active.
2 AnswersOther - Internet1 decade agoI'm looking for a homemade carpet shampoo for a steam cleaner. Any ideas or formulas?
I have a Bissell upright carpet shampooer, but funds are really tight right now and I can't afford a bottle of shampoo. Is there anything I can use, like vinegar, that I could put in the machine without damaging the carpet or the machine? My puppies are having accidents all over the house and I need to clean up. TIA!
1 AnswerCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoI'm looking for an Evanescence song that was on a movie soundtrack.?
She sang it by herself (with her band), not collaborating with or featured by any other artist. The other songs on the album were all rock. I don't remember the name of the movie. I do remember that this song was just absolutely beautiful, as are all her songs, but it was even more so than usual. I don't recall ever hearing the song on any of her albums, but I could be wrong. Does anyone know the song's name? I'm sorry to be so vague. TIA!

16 AnswersNon-Alcoholic Drinks1 decade agoWhy don't my dogs eat when I'm gone?
We always have food available for our dogs. Any dog that I've ever owned, never eats when they're home alone. It seems like they don't touch their water, either, no matter how long we've been out. Does anyone else have an experience like this? Why do they do this?
