I am going to see Phantom of the Opera next Saturday. It's a matinee. What should I wear?
I am a 32-year-old woman, going with my mother in law and teenaged niece. The last time I saw this show, it was at night, and I was a college student...so I dressed up a bit in a floor-length gown. Do I dress down some since it's a daytime show? I'm not made of money, so whatever I wear will have to be something I already own. Things I do have...nice black dress that could be for office wear or out to dinner; black slacks with slight bits of silver glitter, a couple of nice shirts, both short and long sleeve; short black skirt, long and swingy gray skirt; some sweaters. This is Florida, so there's no need to bundle up. Also, the only nice pair of shoes I have left is a pair of pink high heel sandles. Could I wear these with the black dress? Or maybe the black pants with a pink shirt? The dogs ate all my black shoes. Thanks for any and all advice! (I'm pretty clueless in this department, obviously. LOL)
Also, I don't have anybody that I can borrow from, so that's not an option.

Matinee is casual.
I suggest a slim dark wash jean, a feminine top, a blazer, and accessories if you want to play it down. Pair with sexy shoes (flat, you'll be navigating skinny aisles and stairs).
Something like this would be appropriate http://blog.stylehive.com/images/uploads/13109_bla... .
You can substitute a cardigan if you don't wish to wear a blazer.
