Heard about the generosity of Denzel Washington?

Hopefully I have copied the information correctly for you to see.

The Media (Accidently?)

Missed this one!!!!

Don't know whether you heard about this

but Denzel Washington and his family visited

the troops at Brook Army Medical Center , in

San Antonio , Texas (BAMC) the other day. This

is where soldiers who have been evacuated from

Germany come to be hospitalized in the United

States, especially burn victims There are some

buildings there called Fisher Houses. The Fisher

House is a Hotel where soldiers' families can stay,

for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying

on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled

most of the time.

While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave

him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how much one of them would cost to build.

He took his cheque book out and wrote a cheque for the full amount right there

on the spot. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear

this story and want to get the word out to the American

public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it

The question is - why do:

Britney Spears

Madonna

Tom Cruise and

other Hollywood fluff

make front page news with their ridiculous antics

and Denzel Washington's Charity

doesn't even make page 3 in the Metro section of

any newspaper except the local newspaper in San

Antonio .

This needs wide distribution

. Share it!

Its because he didn't have a whole team of publicists and photographers with him, what he did was because he wanted to and could. He's not the only one to just give because they can and want to. Martin Sheen Sean Penn, you'll never hear about their good deeds thats because they don't want the self gratitude or false praise either. Tom Berenger, Martin Sheen Mickey Rourke Tim Robbins Micheal Mooreand a few other Hollywood top men have been invited to my crappy little town and accepted the invitations graciously. I wont name names but a few of them walked into the local pubs and had to be carried out of them.

Washington is just a large and all know city and is definitely suitable deliver a holiday or just visit that city. with hotelbye you will find more. Among the representations of Washington and the entire America may be the popular White House, the official home of the President of the United States. The home of each president except George Washington, it had been originally developed by James Hoban in 1792, and after being burned down by British causes in 1814 was rebuilt in 1818. Even though tours of the interior including the East, Blue, Green, and Red Areas; the Ballroom; and the State Dining Room should be reserved well ahead of time, every tourist to Washington may wish to see that well-known building, at least from the outside. Next door to the White House are the complex 1833 Greek Revival Treasury Building and the 1871 Executive Office Building, one of the very most striking previous government buildings in Washington.

I heard approximately this a pair of months agao, and that i could say, ideal ON, DENZEL! this is approximately time Hollywood produced some genuine heroes for a transformation. From what I heard, Mr. Washington replaced right into a splash embarrassed and greater desirable than a splash peeved that the incident replaced into leaked to the media in any respect; he wasn't finding for accolades, he purely had to do the right element. Gee, what a theory. What do you think of roughly that, Sean Penn? Dixie Chicks? Alec 1st Earl Baldwin of Bewdley? Cindy Sheehan? "Hanoi Jane" Fonda?

Don't believe everything you hear. He did make a sizable donation, though nowhere near enough to build a Fisher House, and he didn't whip out his checkbook on the spot. Also, "the other day" was December 2004.

Yes, a friend of mine in the U.S. sent me this information a while ago, evidently Denzil Wasington didn't want this to get out. The man has gone up a notch or two in my opinion !

while PennyLee is correct, the fact that he visited and made the contribution later does not diminish what he did.
