does anyone know what a TCS censor on a transmission is?

I baught a rebuilt transmission for my '96 mazda 626. and its not working right (doesnt switch into overdrive, revs up to 4000 RPMs before switching to 2nd, slips out of gear, etc).

Well....long story short they told me the problem is a TSC sensor is 'out of range' thats whats making the transmission not work. (I personally think their giving me BS cuz Im a woman who knows nothing about cars)

Well basically the question is the transmission came with a waranty. Now I dunno if the TCS thing is a part of the transmission or not. Do you think it will be covered by the waranty? Do is that money gonna have to come out of my pocket?

TCS is torque convertor switch. It is part of the transmission and should be covered under the warranty as such.

TCS = traction control system (aka TCU or traction control unit). Does your Mazda 626 have traction control? The traction control unit detects road conditions and modifies the normal transmission shift points to help maintain traction.
