What do you think Kurt Cobain would think about Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters?

Let's just say Cobain came back from the dead. What would be his opinion on all of Dave Grohl's accomplishments and the massive success of the Foo Fighters??

Kurt probably would be very happy for him, and might even enjoy much of Foo Fighters' music. I think Kurt would find songs like "Best Of You" and "Times Like These" a bit too poppy, but would probably enjoy "Stacked Actors" and a lot of stuff from the Foos first album. I don't think Kurt had anything against bands who were very successful, he just didn't enjoy being in the spotlight so often, so I think he'd give Dave the thumbs up.

I think he'd be more than a little surprised. And presumably happy for him/ them.

I have no clue what Nirvana's 'behind the scenes' dynamic was, but Dave was the last one to join the band, and while he sang with Kurt, I somehow just don't see him getting much respect as a guitarist/ front man/ singer ~ because that wasn't his job in that band.

He was probably categorized as "the drummer". Period.

And I don't know this either, but did Dave write *any* Nirvana songs? I don't think so. Kurt was the leader, plain and simple. Now Dave's the leader. Kurt might feel a little sting, seeing Dave with a successful career, and from what I've heard, a successful family life, too.

Note to Heidi~ Courtney is not an ex-wife. She is a widow.

He would probably think, good for him. I also think he would consider the Foo Fighters too "Pop" but Dave has said all that darkness was just not his style.

I think he'd be much happier about the Foo Fighters than any of the reactionary mainstream craprock supposedly "inspired" by Nirvana.

I think he would be proud over Dave, just as Kirst is. Kirst the bassist from Nirvana is proud over Dave becuase he countinued his carrer after Nirvana and never gave up. I don't think Kurt would be jelous or anything becuase he woulden't want Dave to end his carrer after he died, he would wanted him to go on.

Source(s): Biggest Foo Fighters and Nirvana fan :)

I think he'd like it. he was an underdog for success, and so was grohl. so i think he'd congratulate him. Yeah, he'd recognized the change in music, but there's hardly any grunge left anyways.

  • I think he'd be jealous, because Kurt would have liked to be able to handle and embrace fame as well as Dave has.

I think he'd be happy and proud of them and their success. He didn't seem the type to hold a grudge.
