What breed, or cross breed, is this horse?...?

Update:

I'll give you a clue:

His great grandsires are Pilatus, Mahdi, Nijinsky, and Greenhaulme Premier King.

Oh, and he was three years old in the picture, standing at 16.3hh!

I'm thinking Warmblood crossed with a TB...

He looks pretty young, but quite well grown in that picture.

Edit: That makes him a Bavarian Warmblood (I'm guessing Polling) crossed with a Shire who has been crossed with a TB!!! So he's 1/2 Warmblood, 1/4 TB and 1/4 Shire...That certainly explains his size too!

He looks like he may have some cleavland bay in there, he is a little upright on his shoulder which would suggest some draft blood, I wouldn't say he was a direct first cross but a result of a couple of crosses. looks as though he will be a 'good doer' , keep a close eye on any weight gains.

With an upright shoulder a normal saddle may shorten his stride and make for an uncomfortable choppy ride, think about getting a treeless type saddle.

He looks like a TB/Clydesdale or a TB/Shire to me.

He could even be 3/4 TB and 1/4 Clydesdale or Shire, because his face looks much more like a TB than a draft.

Most likely a warmblood. Pay attention to the short mane and dappled coat.

that head and chest looks quarter horse to me..but could possibly be a morgan cross or quarter horse mix...very nice build...that's how I like my quarters

  • 1 decade ago

ya know, this horse could honestly be anything from a quarter horse, thoroughbred, or even a Cleveland bay.

since he has dapples on him and striped hooves he is probably mixed with appaloosa a good way to tell is to lift up his tail and see if he has spots on his skin under his tail

Source(s): i had a appaloosa /quarter cross of my own

It almost looks like a fjord / appaloosa cross. Possibly mustang though. It appears to be about 15.2hh.

    TB/HAVORIAN CROSS
