Cual es la mejor aplicacion para editar videos?

Tengo muchos cassettes de camaras de video y quiero editar los mismos para separar los eventos, personas, etc.

Luego quiero grabar el contenido en DVDs.

Que aplicacion me sugieren sea la mejor? No importa si hay que comprarla o sea gratuita.
