It's only on here that the problem exists.Where i live the group of riders i know all get along. And they ride every brand you can think off.It seems to me most of the Harley riders that frequent this site are fairly open minded.I just get riled when fools like Bart S,Mark W and a few others that have no clue what they are talking about try to insult us.They could at least get their facts straight. Then there are idiots like that jerk Ninebadbraincells that goes as far as to call us people of low intelligence. He's the one with low intelligence. Why anyone would care what other people ride is beyond me.It's like standing in a supermarket harassing someone for buying a T-bone when you think they should eat a Porterhouse. If your not paying for it it's none of your business what they get.

Edit Kiss or Kill your right to a point.I've owned Harley's for 33 years so i feel i can speak out with a certain degree of knowledge.I feel bashing is wrong no matter which way it goes.I try to answer any tech question i see that i think i can help answer.I don't care what kind of ride it is.

regularly that's purely individuals' critiques, relatively. individually, i do no longer care what variety of motorbike somebody rides. as long because it has 2 wheels and a motor, that's a motorbike so far as i'm worried. i've got ridden countless motorcycles via the years (i've got been driving motorcycles as my sole transportation for extra or less 13 years). I experience in the rain, sunlight, and particular, even the snow. i found it relatively a snigger whilst the community Harley riders disappeared from the roads whilst the temperatures dropped under 40 stages. Amusingly adequate, i grew to become into generally the only guy or woman on the line, in single-digit temps, on an identical time as driving a 25-twelve months previous Honda. The motorbike never gave me any themes approximately driving in that variety of climate, the two. i've got ridden cruisers, sportbikes and standards. individually, I at present have 2 Hondas, and at present offered my Kawasaki ZX6R. (One Honda is a cruiser, the different is a custom-equipped bobber). I had the possibility to experience a Harley as quickly as. It made extremely some noise, regardless of the undeniable fact that it did no longer do plenty. It felt heavier, slower, and much less in all probability to stop on a dime than the jap motorcycles. finally, i think of it comes right down to what you're searching for for in a motorbike. people who want a "existence style" (positioned on black leather-based, chaps, cranium helmets, experience in straight forward terms on sunny days, and keep the journeys short) might maximum in all probability %. a Harley. people who think of a motorbike could be nimble, with good dealing with traits, capacity transport, and braking, might maximum in all probability %. a jap motorbike. On a appropriate notice, the jap manufactureers have utilized the technologies they have used via the years in races for their streetbikes. This has introduced approximately advancements far and above what Harley has achieved. (as an occasion, a 599cc Kawasaki can hit 60mph in 2.8 seconds, tops out at a hundred and seventy mph, produces over 100hp, and weighs a hair over 4 hundred pounds. Harleys weigh a minimum of two times as plenty, have a million/2 the horsepower yet two times the engine displacement, and often require a lot of money and advancements to accomplish extra suitable.)

I know what you are saying man and this mindset is exactly what keeps me away from road riding and why I stick to motocross. In a couple decades of motocross racing I have never heard one racer ragging on what another racer chooses to ride, what they wear when they ride, how often they ride or the fact that someone else wrenches on their bike. Every few years I'll decide to give the road another try, and run into the same grade school mentality. There are obviously some cool and decent people riding the street, but the problem is that any punk a s s can ride a road bike but these type's don't last long at the track.

If I had a Masters I'd take a little more care with the language.

Harley owners have an annoying way of inserting learned-by-rote myths and catch phrases into, otherwise, serious discussions about motorcycles between real motorcycle riders.

Harley (excepting V Rod) is old tech. Jap companies are not copying outdated HD design any more that HD is copying Daimler, Russel or Crocker. "Choppers" are the product of street riders and "bobbers" are the product of racers, they are not the product of HD.

H-D a publicly owned company that manufactures in America, same as Kawasaki and formerly, Honda.

We heard that cheesy pseudo-patriotic buy American crap even when the majority of Motor Co. stock was owned by French investors. The French, for god's sake! The guys who gave Iran nuclear capability and stuck our GIs in Iraq without help from the Continent. Of course, I realize that' not as immediate as the Batan Death March that Viet Nam era riders use to knock Jap bikes.

We don't give a flying f#ck that you got skinned by your dealership and paid a lot more money for your motorcycle that we did.for ours.

Other yuppies paid more for their Lexus than I did for my Nissan and that doesn't impress me, either.

The fact that you plan on getting rid of your Harley even before you sign the contract makes "holding its value" important to you and other HD cult members, but doesn't say much for your choice of machine. "Resale value" doesn't have a place in a serious discussion comparing the merits of various motorcycles.

Saying that owners of other marques are 'pots calling the kettle black' doesn't even make any sense. Your little emoticon (or whatever ) is too cute for words, though.

    Nothing personal.

Usually riders associate Harley's with the yuppie, wannabe types. I worked for Harley Davidson and it's easy to see why. Most of the HD riders these days are men in their late 40's/early 50's who wake up one day and decided they need a change. What do they do? They go out and buy a $30,000.00 bike they don't know how to ride, buy every piece of chrome they can get their hands on, buy up anything with the name Harley Davidson on it and suddenly expect to be the most amazing thing in the world.

90% of the time they don't know what they hell they are talking about. It's just verrrrry irritating seeing those kind of people.

They ride for all the wrong reasons.

What are you talking about, how did you get your masters when you can't communicate an idea clearly?

Many people bash Harley Riders, many Harley riders bash other bikes are are too cool to wave to you. We all ride bike's who cares what someoen else rides.

My personal opinion is that you can get an equal if not better bike for a fraction of the price as a Harley, however if I had the money I would probably buy one.

For the same reason only a moron would rather drive a GTO rather than a Honda Civic.

    ( sarcasm )

Jealousy, inferior feelings, ignorance, want people to think they know something, because somebody else does it, etc, etc. If they were more creative it would be better, but it's always the same stuff. Small things for small minds comes to mind. This is how I feel about HD bashers.

"Couldn't have said it better myself! I rarely see a Harley owner bashing a jap owner! But they sure stick it to us!"

You must be new here. Look up some threads I've replied in and count the thumbs up to Japanese bikes and comments compared to the thumbs up to the Harley bikes and comments. (Conversely, look up the thumbs down to Japanese bike sympathizers compared to the Harley sympathizers.) Harley Davidson owns this god damned site, as far as I'm concerned.

I don't mind, though. Fanboys of either side are some of the most brain dead cretins you could ever hope to deal with.
