Can greed drive one mad?

To the extent that we are greedy, we already are mad. A little bit greedy is a little bit mad, very greedy is very mad - and usually more harmful to yourself and others. If Bernard Madoff had contented himself with taking off all his clothes and shouting at the pigeons, he would have done far less damage.

It can drive a person to do very irrational things and therefore they lose what is or was very important.

My mother actually pissed away everything my father worked all his life for. She want to live in the lap of luxury and have more than she was entitled to. She had to go bankrupt and damn near lost the house. Her greed in other maters and the fact that she alienated me to the point that I really didn't give a **** if she ended up in the street or not. In other-words luxury stood up and yelled craps.

Greed is judging what someone else wants as being more than you think they should have.

And the act of continuously making anal retentive control freak judgments like this, as well as the continuous irritation from those who do - can certainly drive one mad.

Of course you may not want to give this take on things to your teacher who is most assuredly trying to teach you the lunacy of Marx instead of the wisdom of Rand.

Green an drive a person to insanity. There are people known to kill another simply for their money. It happens all the time when you have women who marry a wealthy man and then want out of the marriage but don't want to give up the money. They have been know to kill their husband. I believe the Black Widow was the given name to a woman who would kill her husbands after she married them for their money.

I would say that jealousy, more than greed, drives people crazy. But it's the same basic principle. People crave things that make them happy, and certain people are more susceptible to insanity because of their selfish greed and lack of control.

Happiness can drive someone mad. Just look at people who have taken Prozac for years.

many times i have heard that a man, a father ,an uncle raped his wife, daughter, sister in law so it is their greed(sexual) which drives them mad (to have sex) i guess
