try going on a run outside. I really wish you would realize how LUCKY you are....I was born physically disabled and I can barely walk I have to use crutches THAT is really not freeing or uplifting, It really makes me sad when I read questions like this because it shows how much people take things for granted....Imagine a life like mine...when I have kids one day I will not be able to carry them or run with them or hold their hand when crossing the street, you are blessed.

Find something that you find fun but that is also going to give you a workout. Try swimming in an indoor pool since it's cold where you live. The water will most likely be heated so that will be nice :) Swimming burns a lot of calories and it is a great workout for your whole body. Or maybe some other sport if you are willing to go out and brace the cold air. Perhaps tennis? I love tennis and that is also something that keeps me active. Maybe try working out with a friend, this will keep you motivated and your friend will encourage you to continue working out to reach your goal. Remember, whatever it is you do, try to have fun with it. This will make working out seem much less of a necessary thing and more like a fun activity. I wish you luck on reaching your goal! You can do it! :)

i understand about using the treadmill inside. i always feel better when i run outside, but since you don't want to do that. Maybe consider getting an elliptical machine? There great because u burn calories but it feels better then running. Or u can go for walks if u want...walking burns the same cals as running but it just takes longer.

Or u should try doing some pilates or dancing at home. Pilates REALLY tone your body and it would probably help you with those last few pounds.

There are online ways of going about exercising. Either look up some Pilate's moves to try and tone up the excess that doesn't seem to leave, or I would get one of those dancing/exercise videos and do it somewhere private. Once you lose so much weight, it just feels like it stops at one point, but don't give up. Try cutting out soda if you have not already. I don't like running either. That is why I started doing Pilate's.

Source(s): I take pilates and know about trying to lose weight, because I have been in the same situation.

running is much more effective if you are enjoying yourself! if you have to drag yourself onto a treadmill, you won't lose as much weight. make a playlist on your ipod of your favorite songs and do something good for yourself like get your nails done or have some ice cream every time you have a really good work out! try to distract yourself with something other than the tv. what i like to do is count to 100 over and over again in my head, and then once i've been running for long enough it feels so cool because it doesn't even feel like you're running!

    good luck!

There is lots of different exercises you can do...how about pilates or other aerobics which is always fun and you can do in your lounge room.

If you have friends that like to exercise why not have a game of soccer once a week or go bike riding which is great to help you lose weight.

Do a google search on different exercises you'll be amazed at the diverse things you can do!

You could try buying some hand weights and using them while watching TV or walk around and do chores wearing ankle weights. Because proper weight workouts burn more calories in the long run than treadmill workouts do. Or maybe try a few pilates DVD's. I know what you mean about the running thing though, Im 16 and Im in the same position:D

i've learned that if you start slow and work your way up, its much easier. try putting the treadmill on the pace you're more comfortable with when you walk, then start turning it up by a few every time. or you can invite a friend to excercise with you. its much more fun with a friend and it wont feel so much like a workout. eating healthy can also help with your running. junk food doesnt give you as much energy as fruits and veggies can. next time you want a snack, try an apple. proteins and wheats help too. good luck!

well the free and uplifting feeling that is shown on tv is pretty fake becuase they have put lots and lots of dedicated time into their body. you're going to have to do the same butttt you dont have to run on a treadmill. you can do jumping jacks, pulls ups, sit ups, crunches, and so many more exercises. you should run too but vary your exercise pattern a little bit so that you're not dying of boredom. i'm glad you still lost 10 lbs. that's reallyyy good. keep up the good work. i would just say vary the pattern a little bit and do stuff at home so that you're not on display.

Pretend your in a hurry, and run as fast as you can outside your neighborhood. People should get 2,000-3,400 calories a day. If you eat over 3,400 calories, all the extra calories can end up being fat. The amount of excersize- 60 minutes a day. The best and not boring excirsize routine is dancing. (You need to listen to your favorite musics while your excersizing so you wont think it's boring.
