1: False, they lay eggs and get larger stomachs before laying but they aren't Pregnant.

2: False but they can be give a little sand to cushion and stabilise. They need a concave and nothing else.

3: Both, some are simply rogue birds and some do it to get the calcium and vitamins they may lack.
