No more then Monopoly, Sorry, or Clue. I'm guessing that you are aren't aware that Ouija boards are made by Parker Brothers.

Do you really think that something that could actually "open a portal" to anywhere would be sold at Toys-R-Us for $12.99?

A Ouija board is a game from Parker Bros. Is it dangerous? As someone already mentioned, Only if you think so and spook yourself thinking that you are dabbling in the occult. Is automatic writing dangerous. Only if you think so, etc. Both essentially are tools to open up parts of the mind (not other dimensions in some "outside" spiritual world) that most people are unaccustomed--and oftentime not prepared--to experience. When you use these things, you are only communicating with yourself.

an ouija board is not a toy it is used to contact the murdered, suicide and tortured spirits. Automatic writing is done when in a trance or suspended sleep, you can fall into a coma if you heart beats too slowly

so it is a good idea to have someone else around whilst you are doing it.

It's called an ouija bord, not a weejee board. And no, it's not dangerous, just goofy.

Ouija boards are not dangerous. They sell them in toy stores, for Pete's sake. "Automatic writing" is nonsense. The only thing either one of them do is waste your time.

What's dangerous is the number of people who take that nonsense seriously. Our educational system has cheated them badly.

Oija boards certainly are dangerous... but only if you hit yourself repeatedly upside the head with one.

Ouija boards are extremely dangerous. If not used properly (though I don't believe they should be used at all) someone could let an evil spirit or a demon into our world and then it could possess the person who contacted it. Automatic writing is just as dangerous. My advice is to stay far away from that stuff. Only people who know what they're doing should mess with that kind of stuff, and even then you need to be careful.

If you have firm belief in the supernatural, some claim they;ve contacted dangerous stuff.

PS, it's called "Ouija", not "weejee"

    Yes...and meditation can be dangerous.

There's a good amount of negative crap that people keep bottled up inside, and when it comes out to play, some just aren't ready, or able, to deal with it...So, you mess with the ouija, you contact something that may be outside you, or may be inside, then what do you do when the nightmares start, or the psychosis or neurosis starts to play with your mind?
