My kicker ZX300.1 amp isnt powering on.?

I have a ZX300.1 kicker amp hooked up in my ranger. It has a power cable already hooked up to the battery and then to the amp, and the ground wire and remote wires are hooked up too. The protection light comes on, but the light under the word kicker wont come on, and the subs wont play. I need to know how to to get the amp to turn on.

Update:

The protection light is red

Update 2:

I have 1 kicker c12 sub hooked up to it.

Do you have a fuse in the battery wire? If so, is it blown? Make sure you have power at the amp on that wire. That could be the problem. Tha amp could be dead too. Try another amp. Take it to a pawn shop and let them try it out. They will hook it up and make sure it works. Then tell them you changed your mind and don't want to pawn it if it comes on.

If the protection light is red it could mean you overloaded the amp. If that is the case it went into protection mode to keep from damaging anything. If it was sitting directly in the sun it may have overheated, which is like overloading it.

Another question, you didn't mention RCA wires. Do you have those hooked up to it?

What kind of subs do you have wired to it.

You may have it wired at to low of an ohm load.
