Can friends be categorized in Facebook?

Let's say some of my Friends are co-workers, some are neighbors and some are relatives. Is there a way to control who can see what posts? I don't want my co-workers to see the same things that my relatives see. Is that an option and if so, how do you do it? TIA

Absolutely. Go to "Friends". On the left side of the page there is the option to "Make a new list". Go ahead and title it whatever you want and type in the friend's names you'd like to add under "add to list". To edit what that particular group will see, go to "Privacy Settings" (top right), choose the area of your profile you want to edit and then "Edit custom settings".
