went to a new doctor a few weeks ago and i was a new patient so they took alot of blood?

i went to a new doctor a few weeks ago and i was a new patient so they took alot of blood and hooked me up to wires to make sure i was healthy. a few days ago they called and said i was perfectly fine. i wanted to ask if they checked or aids. i heard they dont when they take blood before surery but what about this?

    In order to be tested for HIV you need to sign a consent form (in the US). The doctor would not test for HIV without your permission.

    It's not a standard screening test, so I would very strongly doubt it (plus that test in particular is actually quite highly regulated, so you would have been told if an HIV test was done).

    In addition, unless you have some reason to believe that you may have HIV or have some risk factors, I would discourage you from just getting a test, there's really no reason to do so in the absence of some reason to suspect the disease.
