In Kingdom Hearts 2, how do you get on the Gummi Ship from inside a world?

You don't go to the Gummi hangar to look for your Gummi Ship. It won't be there. Instead, if you access it from your Save Point, meaning you open the Save Menu and choose Gummi Ship. When you reach the World Map, choose Hollow Bastion and land in Merlin's Study. Mere minutes after talking to Merlin, he has the team back at Disney Castle. He seems to know what's wrong, and subsequently makes a door for the team to enter. Sora's mission is to enter the new world, find the perpetrator, and seal the other door that leads into that world. Sounds good. Enter the door.

Kingdom Hearts Gummi Ship

Just like in Kingdom Hearts 1, you access your Gummi Ship via a Save Point. Just select "Gummi Ship" or "World Map" and say yes to return the the world map. Afterwards, guide yourself to Hollow Bastion in which you will be able to land at Merlin's House.

I do remember this game, I love it! I think you do it from save points don't you? that might not be right if this is your first time going on the gummi ship. If that's the case, I would say try to find the gummi hanger by looking all over the disney castle.

Getting to the world map is easy enough, find a save point and look int the menu. You should have an option to go to the world map, this will bring you back to the world map.

You need to go to a save point and go to that menu. Then choose world map.
