Trying to solve a Rubik's cube... ?
So I've got all the top layer perfect, all aligned with the middle pieces and everything. Now I'm supposed to get the middle edge pieces... and that's where it falls apart. I tried looking online, but all the tutorials go way over my head. It's like another language. Any suggestions?

Hi Mariah,
These videos show what is pretty much considered to be the best beginner method:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsQIoPyfQzM
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IW_BBp3FPMQ
But since you mentioned that the videos are confusing, you might try the booklet that came with the cube.
Here is the official site http://www.rubiks.com/ which has its own simple solution instructions http://www.rubiks.com/lvl4/commun/cbeclb/clbsol/cl... and the original solution booklet that comes with the standard cube; http://www.rubiks.com/World/~/media/Files/Solution...
Or you can use this site to get it back to the original solution. Not good for learning, but good for returning to the start.

If you want to know more, you can read up on the wikipedia entry:

There is a beginners forum on the speed solving page that addresses many issues, like how and when to lube the cube for smooth operation. Take a look:

Good luck!
