Why did Obama's *ss visit a Mosque in Turkey but refuse to visit the WW2 cemetery in Normandy, France?
He was specifically invited by the President of France (as if the President of the USA needs the urge of an invitation) to visit this location where thousands of U.S. soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice for freedom lie. I understand that the White House later indicated that BHO "didn't want to offend the German leader"?? (If that is true - isn't that the most ridiculous thing you've ever heard? ...so he most certainly offends Americans & our heroes instead?!)
Eric M, I feel it is our American duty as citizens to keep an eye on the actions of our elected officials. Don't you? Or would you rather have whomever manages to get themselves elected just be allowed to 'run a muck' if they desire?
I did not intend to imply that BHO was a Muslim. I simply was pointing out that he did the one and did not do the other.
Pay it Forward - I thank you for your answer but I believe that perhaps you should do more research on BHO so that YOU know more about him. I know what kind of character this BHO is by his voting record, his speeches, his books, his associations & his actions.

You really need to learn more time learning about him because your question shows you just don't trust him. If you notice 70% of the country really trust him & about 25% are very, very confused & constantly worried about everything about him. So I have no idea why he did whatever but I don't care about this kind of stuff cause I trust there is a great reason for everything he does. So you will be a good one to do a lot of research on the President since you have such deep questions. Good Luck! I am sure you will enjoy this journey.

The point of the trip was to mend fences. Highlighting a war that split Europe would have been a dumb move. It's diplomacy, plain and simple.
The 65th anniversary is this June. If Obama does nothing to recognize them then, you then have a legitimate reason to gripe.
