USO's-am I the only one who finds this viable?

We're exploring space, but why don't we fully explore our own planet first? New species are being discovered with ultra depth mini subs, so why don't we develop the tech to go all the way to the very depths of the ocean? I'm not convinced that all intelligent life crawled out of the ocean-maybe some stayed. Perhaps The Abyss wasn't that impossible? Anyone else think the answers to our evolution and intelligence are in our own backyard?

I believe that life is more diverse and prolific than what is commonly recognized. They have sent subs down really deep and found whole new ecosystems and adaptions of life to the conditions there. It does take higher qualities in engineering to explore the depths than outer space due to the immense pressures involved, but it is getting looked into.

As explanations goes it isn't any worst than the extraterrestrial hypothesis surrounding UFOgy. We have no technology that even hints of a means by which anyone could travel 4 light years to earth in any reasonable amount of time. Just do the math 4C/15,000 mph.

There was NO "intelligent life crawled out of the ocean" unless you consider frogs intelligent.

We cannot stop investigating new frontiers until old ones have been fully rung out.

so with the same reasoning why don't we eliminate the poorness in our world
